To encourage enrollment and clarify its purpose, Youth JAM will drop that title and begin using the title Godparents and/or Godteens.
The Godparents Program for Youth is our diocesan catechism for secondary students, high schoolers. In our parish, all high schoolers are welcome, whether they attend Pius X, a public school, or are home-schooled. Students will meet in the homes of their leaders (nearly) every Wednesday night for prayer, a lesson, discussion, and social time. A practicing Catholic couple takes a class as freshmen and stays with them through high school graduation. About once a month, there is a large group activity. Godteens help with the annual Marian Mass, paint faces at the parish picnic, and sponsor the annual Easter Egg Hunt.
