Eat food. Have fire. Make scarecrows.
Come to the Potter home (e-mail or call for address) at 7:00 p.m. on October 16th for a fall party and bonfire! I will provide a light meal of hot dogs and chips. We will have a fire in the back yard and I will have the makings for S'Mores.
I bought four HUGE straw bales for stuffing; I want each class to create a scarecrow! I will provide the odds & ends (glue gun, paint, buttons, pillowcases for the head, yarn, "skeleton", etc.) but would like the students to come up with outfits for their scarecrows. You could ask your parents for old clothing, or visit Goodwill (99-cent clothes this weekend) or our own thrift store for scarecrow-like clothing. 1000 bonus points for creativity!
Dress according to the weather, as we will be outdoors.

Note to parents: Jeremy and I can provide the "skeletons" for the scarecrows, but if a parent has a particular talent (or extra wood) for putting these T-shaped "skeletons" together, please let me know. If you have odds & ends (see above) to send with your students, that's fine too. I have plenty here but we can always use extra.
